Twenty thousand people are expected to rock Dalkeith Country Park in June at the 80s era music festival making its Scottish debut.
Billy Ocean, Marc Almond, ABC, Heaven 17 and Go West are among the acts who will take to the stage on June 23 for Let’s Rock Scotland.
The nostalgic festival has been on the go since 2009 down south, but will make its Scottish debut in Midlothian.
Nick Billinghurst of Let’s Rock, said: “We are very excited. Obviously this is the first time in Scotland and the response so far has been amazing. We only announced the festival in November and have sold 15,000 tickets already.
“The demand has meant we have had to move it from the front of the palace which is better as the arena is now closer to the campsite. We have found Buccleuch Estates very helpful. And we fell in love with the site right away.
“We have been going for ten years now. It’s just gone from strength to strength. Everyone loves the 80s. It’s nice to make our Scottish debut to mark our tenth anniversary.
“Billy Ocean, Marc Almond, Tony Hadley, some big names there.
“We have a real mixture. We have the same artists at our events but we keep it fresh. We have plenty of acts to choose from and they all love playing the festival.
“It’s one big party for the audience at the front of the stage and backstage for the artists. Happy artists equals happy show.
“Our Scottish debut has been a success already and we would obviously look to stay at Dalkeith as they have been really helpful.”
With a free campsite for festival goers to stay on the Saturday night, and free parking, the family-friendly event caters for festival goers of all ages, with soft play areas, a kids’ kingdom, workshops and a funfair on site. Nick added: “We are looking forward to showing off what Let’s Rock can offer in Scotland. We have got a really big line-up.
“We find with Let’s Rock, because we are all family men, it’s always centred as a family day out. It feels like one big family. With great music to listen to, it’s just great fun. A really exciting day out. With lots of free stuff to do as well.”
Tickets for the first Let’s Rock Scotland event in June are still available here.
