Newhaven crash: Woman taken to hospital after being hit by motorbike on Edinburgh seafront road near The Fishmarket restaurant

A female pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being struck by a motorbike on a road by the seafront in Newhaven.

The crash happened in Pier Place, near to The Fishmarket restaurant, at around 3:25pm and resulted in the road being closed between Craighall Road and Westmost Close.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were called to a report of a collision between a motorbike and a pedestrian on Pier Place, Edinburgh, around 3.25pm on Tuesday, 8 September, 2020.

"Enquiries are ongoing and the road is closed with local diversions in place."

Traffic has been queuing in the area and a message on the Lothian buses website says the number 16 and 200 routes have been diverted along North Junction Street, Ferry Road, Craighall Road until further notice. Buses are also subject to delays.
