Recent ISD figures have shown that NHS Lothian is the worst performing health board in Scotland for A&E waiting times.

Over the last two recorded weeks in February NHS Lothian had the lowest percent of patients seen within the target of four hours, 80.7 per cent and 82.6 per cent, well below the target of 95 per cent. And NHS Lothian had the highest number of patients waiting over eight hours to be seen with 76 and then 75, accounting for just over a third of patients across Scotland waiting that long.

NHS Lothian also had the highest number of patients waiting over 12 hours to be seen with 31 and then 11, accounting for 48 per cent of patients across Scotland waiting over 12 hours.

Conservative Lothian MSP Miles Briggs said: “NHS Lothian is consistently one of the worst performing Health Boards and this is another example of SNP Ministers failing people in Lothian.”
