Local senior fire officer David Farries told last week’s Police and Fire and Rescue Board meeting that he had “no areas of concern”while delivering the latest performance report.
He highlighted a 10 per cent decrease of deliberate fires in these figures for April to June 2016 compared to the same period last year. Adding that it “had been a problem before, especially in Midlothian’s parks”. Mr Farries also highlighted the good work done with schools and home fire safety visits.
However, there were very slight increases in the number of accidental dwelling fires and false alarms compared to the same period last year.
