Time is running out if you want to nominate your favourite local cafe, pub or restaurant for this year’s Midlothian Food and Drink Awards.
Members of the public have until Sunday, April 24 to vote for the crème de la crème via the Midlothian Tourism Forum website – www.visitmidlothian.org.uk
Now in their fifth year, the awards are decided by a public vote. In 2014, more than 6500 public nominations were received and this rose to more than 10,000 last year.
Awards will be presented for Best Place for a Coffee, Best Place for a Pint, Best Customer Service, Best Cafe Lunch, Best Restaurant for Lunch, Best Place for Dinner and Best Place for a Takeaway. Candidates for the Best Producer category are self-nominated through an application process.
Organised by the tourism forum and Midlothian Council, backed by Business Gateway and sponsored by local businesses, winners will be announced at a gala event at the National Mining Musem Scotland, Newtongrange, on Thursday, June 9.
