O’Connor on fraud charge

HIBS footballer Garry O’Connor has appeared in court just 24 hours after being slammed by a sheriff for missing a hearing on separate charges.

He maintained his not guilty plea after being ordered to attend the pre-trial hearing at Haddington Sheriff Court to face charges of insurance fraud.

O’Connor, 28, was criticised by a sheriff for skipping a pre-trial hearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday.

In that case he is charged with possessing cocaine in Hope Street Lane, Edinburgh, on May 14, 2011, and of resisting arrest.
