One man in hospital as neighbours are evacuated following an explosion in Whitburn
A neighbouring house on Dixon Road has been evacuated as a precaution as emergency services do not yet know what caused the explosion.
It is not known whether the individual sustained any injuries in the explosion in his home but Police confirmed that he was taken to hospital by the ambulance service.

Hide AdEmergency services remain on the scene and the local council and relevant utility company has been made aware of the situation.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said today: “Around 9.30am on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, police and emergency services were called to a report of an explosion in a house in Dixon Road, Whitburn.
“The male householder has been taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he is being treated by medical staff. No details on injury - if any - at this time. A neighbouring house has been evacuated as a precaution.
“Emergency services remain at the scene assisted by relevant utility company. The local council are aware.

West Lothian Police posted on Facebook earlier this morning saying there was an ongoing incident in Whitburn but that there is no cause for concern to the general public, however, they did ask if possible that people please avoid the area of Dixon Road, Whitburn to allow a full investigation to be carried out.
