Brexit: Why Leave voters may well change their minds as effects of leaving the EU become clear – Helen Martin

There have been debates about the effects on UK banks, financial services and many more sectors that are still unclear.

Trade deals are still not clear in terms of extra costs, what’s acceptable in the EU one and what’s not.

Thousands of people who have holiday or retirement homes in Spain, the Balearic and Canary Islands, or anywhere else in Europe, have to discover all the aspects of property ownership, how long they can stay, how pensions and health care can be dealt with. And how can they sell them, or even rent them, and to whom, if it’s not possible for them to remain?

Spanish areas and islands who have a huge percentage of British owners, residents and holidaymakers and also have British-owned pubs, restaurants, firms and staff. What happens with all that?

We still don’t know yet how limited our food, medicines and other imports from the EU might be, and how costs may soar.

It is a massive mystery. And since Brexit was finalised in such a rush, it’s logical to accept that even UK negotiators and government still don’t know all these details.

There’s a strong chance a majority of those who voted Leave may well demand to “Rejoin” once all is revealed.

Would EU want Britain back? And if so, would new negotiations begin? So personally, I don’t think Brexit is over… this could carry on for many years.
