Any good TV tips for the pandemic lockdown? After fruitless searching on various online and terrestrial television platforms I’ve hit on two gems in recent days; one of them Scottish, the other American.
If you haven’t yet seen The Nest on the BBC, you’re in for a treat. Greenock-born acting sensation Martin Compston and Sophie Rundle play the lead roles in a riveting drama revolving around a couple going through the difficulties of surrogacy.

Hide AdWithout any spoilers I think you will enjoy the series and you should keep an eye out for breakthrough Scots star Mirren Mack. We will definitely see and hear a lot more from her in the future.
Use this week to catch up with the first three episodes on the iPlayer before the penultimate episode next Saturday.
The other top TV tip of the moment is Tiger King on Netflix. The true crime documentary miniseries follows the jaw-dropping case of Joe Exotic and the rivalries between big cat conservationists in the US.
When this was first recommended to me I thought it was a wind-up, until I watched it. Nobody can prepare you for the mayhem, madness and murder. Trust me, give it a try if you haven’t seen it yet. Fingers crossed that the good programmes continue or it’ll be back to the classic boxsets.
