Covid: I went for a test at Leith Library and was so impressed I felt like applying for a job there – Hayley Matthews

I've done a Covid test on my eight-year-old before but not on myself, until recently that is.

To be honest, the way he'd reacted to me doing his test, you'd have thought I'd put a chilli up his nose so I wasn't looking forward to it.

I'd booked in to the Leith Library walk-through testing centre after barking like a dog for a few days as I thought it was the sensible thing to do.

I turned up with my phone and showed my info at the door, all organised and every person that met me was very professional and helpful.

They really knew what they were doing. I said to the guy at the front desk how cold it must be standing there all night but he told me “they're really looking after us here”.

Made me want to apply for a part-time job with them as they all seemed happy at their work. I walked to a booth where I had a dedicated guy helping me with every step, all simple and straight forward,

I followed the instructions and popped the cotton swab in the bag. Less than 20 hours later I had my negative result through and was delighted.

Despite still sounding like I have croup, I can cough with confidence and felt a huge sense of relief.

Hats off to everyone at the testing centres and labs for keeping us all safe whilst testing. You’re doing a great job!
