January sales: I've discovered a way to save a fortune on things I don't need – Hayley Matthews

January just won't be the same without the January sales this year.

No 5am queues outside next waiting for them to open their doors. No busy George Street full of avid shoppers sipping on a Costa as they balance huge bags on their arms.

It just won't be the same with us all locked down and being deterred from being in crowds. I've been looking at online sales and after a few gin and tonics in the evening, I convince myself that I need more jumpers, jackets and shoes.

However, I always wait until the morning before paying to see if I really do need the purchases that the tipsy me has selected the night before. The answer to which is often NO!

To be honest, even if I did pick out a new jumper in the sales, is there anywhere to wear it to? I can't see me getting all dolled up to prance about the kitchen.

But I think I'm on to something. Do you ever have a few wines on a Saturday morning before you head for the sales up the town? No is my guess. Do you ever have a couple of home measures of gin then hit Jenners make-up department on a Sunday afternoon? No, because you'd probably empty the shelves!

So maybe online shopping is the way forward because so far this January sales I've spent a whopping £00.00 on things that I don't need. You should try it too, you'll save yourself a fortune.
