Congratulations to Joshua Grant whose fantastic acoustic track Edinburgh has just reached number one.

The 18-year-old singer from the Capital posted a heartfelt note on his Facebook page saying: “Thanks to all of you I have achieved everything I ever dreamt of in terms of releasing Edinburgh. From the very bottom of my heart thank you to everyone who streamed, bought or shared the tune.”

‘Edinburgh’ by Scottish singer-songwriter tops official charts

With a video full of city scenes and lyrics that take you from Arthur’s Seat, to George Street, Lothian Road and Morningside, the song is a breakthrough success and deserves to be the start of a major musical career.

Joshua who is an independent artist has been effusively gracious about the support he has received from friends, family, supporters and radio DJs who have given Edinburgh airtime. Hopefully he will be signed up soon and playing live gigs we can attend after the lockdown.

With Edinburgh reaching the number one spot in Scotland and 34 across the UK download charts, it’s worth a download and keep an eye out for the new Capital success Joshua Grant.
