SNP's new party political broadcast is amazing – Helen Martin
and live on Freeview channel 276
All we are faced with are political leaders repeating their party scripts, “acting” as if they are likely to win, slagging off all other parties, and imagining their PPB is going to increase their votes.
I was amazed when the SNP broadcast was revealed last week. Nicola Sturgeon didn’t say a word and wasn’t featured in it, other than her face as First Minister shown on background screens.

One of her most interesting statements was that once indy was gained, any political party could be elected to govern Scotland.
And to be fair, that’s what most SNP voters accept. The National Party won’t rule for ever, but it may take quite a while until Tories, Labour or Lib Dems learn how to function exclusively for Scotland, whether the UK no longer exists or becomes the rUK.
The PPB wasn’t “starring” SNP ministers or Sturgeon. It wasn’t boasting about their policies and laying down promises. Nor was the thrust of it to slag off any other parties (which, for them, is about half of their broadcast).

But it was wonderful to see a non-MSP girl featuring in a party broadcast simply explaining why people want independence.
