The real test of a relationship has to be surviving lockdown – Hayley Matthews

They say the ultimate test in a relationship is living together and I think living together with not much else going on (ie 2020) has been the ultimate test for most.

Let's be honest, the lockdown has pushed every family/couple/cohabitants etc to their limits and believe me, we’ve had our moments, but it’s actually brought us closer as a family.

I feel very grateful to have a wonderful Mr Hayley who has been very patient with us all through the last year – he’s incredible and I can’t imagine having gone through a lockdown with anyone else.

I realised how lucky we are to have a strong relationship when a friend was telling me how two of her friends had split up over the last few months as they just couldn’t live with each other anymore.

The lockdown had pushed the couple to the brink and they'd thrown in the towel. And it's not the only time I've heard this.

I know there are many couples and families out there who have been pushed to the limits. However, if you can survive a lockdown as a couple or family then you're winning!

Yes all those little bad habits like leaving the toilet seat up, not replacing the loo roll, putting the dishwasher stuff in the wrong order etc are really nothing when you think about what really matters.

So hug your nearest and dearest that you're living with and be grateful for small blessings.

Let's try to not focus on the wee irritating things and focus on the positives because it sounds like we're all going to be in lockdown for a while again.
