Hearts are off the bottom of the SPL table for the first time in a while, and there are reasons to be optimistic for the remainder of the season.

Given how low morale has been for Jambos in recent months, it’s important to focus on the positive. Snatching a draw from the jaws of defeat at St Johnston is not a major success, especially after having led at half-time, but a point is point.

'His time at Hearts has not been easy but he has to play better' - Daniel Stende...

Hearts have not lost a game in their last five outings, and can still bask in the glow of the recent Tynecastle victory against Rangers. New manager Daniel Stendel is clearly making his mark on the players, boosting confidence and performance.

However the 3-3 weekend draw in Perth was plagued by a poor second half, and with greater consistency Hearts could and should have been celebrating their first successive league victories in a year.

The Jambos play Kilmarnock tomorrow at Tynecastle, who won 3-1 against Ross County on Saturday. We may see new German midfield signing from Schalke 04 Marcel Langer play for the first time in the game.
