It's people spreading the disease, not politicians - your view

Intro

Covid numbers

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has confirmed that deaths from Covid-19 have now reached 4070

Murray Gardiner

Remember folks, it's people spreading the disease, not politicians. Can’t people not just stay at home a bit longer? Yes, it's been tough but there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

How many are traced to hospitality venues? How many are traced to educational institutions or halls of residence? Also, is Edinburgh being penalised for the whole of the Lothians?

John Wales

Glasgow should have kept all their shops closed like the rest of the country and schools should have stayed closed as well, because this serious virus is not going away any time soon. Let's try to keep to two metres apart to stop spread of the virus.

Lee Cunningham

Open everything back up, wear a mask if you're in enclosed spaces and wash your hands regularly. Realistically that's all anyone can do. Different versions of this lockdown are pointless, there's always going to be people out and about regardless of the tier they're in, so why ruin people's businesses/livelihoods? Can't live in fear forever.

Marc Swan

Another set of results that shows Edinburgh should be dropped a tier! Only 196 cases out of 400,000 - why are we still being restricted the way we are?

It just goes to show that closing the hospitality sector for weeks has not helped in reducing the daily death toll and case numbers.

Lorna Allan

NHS Lothian, so that’s not just Edinburgh then. That’s including, West Lothian, Midlothian and East Lothian.

Rab Forbes

Have Greater Glasgow and Clyde not been in Tier 4 for weeks? What is the reason behind them having more than a quarter of those daily cases?

School complaint

Wet and cold Scottish pupils write a\ 'heartbreak' letter of complaint to school

Are the windows being left open due to the virus? The kids are getting so cold in the classrooms.

Karen Mowatt

Some schools are not allowing kids to wear their jackets or hats in class either. My son comes home freezing each day from high school. He must wear uniform and is told to take outdoor clothes off in class and sits next to an open window. How on earth can they learn anything?

Tracy Anne McKenzie

Do the teachers sit outside in the rain for their lunch as well?

Darren Gizzmo Macpherson

My kids’ school.are the same. They have them out doing PE in the snow and rain. Last time they had them out, some without jackets. They say our kids can’t come to school if they show cold and flu symptoms, but it’s they who are giving them the cold and flu. My kid always has her waterproofs and a thick jacket with her, it's just whether or not they let her put them on.

Kids are doing PE outdoors in all weather, then not allowed to get changed after - it's no wonder!

Nan Mcewan

It’s winter; it’s up to parents to provide waterproof coats to wear to school.

Oleg Litvinenko

It's interesting how head can't see the futility of "The heating is fully functioning and classrooms are heated adequately", versus windows must remain open. What's the point of running heating if windows are open?

Sharon Thomson

I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that kids are having to do PE outdoors in all weathers. I’m sure it can be done indoors with safety measures in place.

Sounds like some teachers are not only wearing masks but blindfolds too. Not difficult to spot wet and cold children in a classroom.

Laela Coutts

Sending spare clothes with kids to school isn’t going to work for everybody. Not all families can afford to do this, some kids might only have the one uniform.

Mandy Zerifex

Not all families can afford to wash them everyday either.

Joy Doogan

This is getting ridiculous! Stop doing this to the children.

Mary Laird

It is child abuse.

Christie Paton

So the head teacher says "It’s important for them that we send them out, even in the rain, but its their fault they didn’t tell us their clothes were wet."
