Readers support Nicola Sturgeon over Covid mask gaffe
Nicola unmasked
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has apologised after breaking Covid rules by taking her mask off at a funeral wake
Carly Millan Page
At a funeral of her colleague, I think her mind may have been elsewhere and any rational human could understand this lapse.

Hide AdPicture perfect. Guaranteed someone was out to get her and snapped the second she pulled that mask down. Mental she gets absolute grief when Boris and his camp get away with everything.
Sara Templeton
Give the woman a break. She has worked tirelessly through this pandemic for the people of Scotland.
Audrey Morgan
She had the decency to admit it,unlike some others!
Avril Cunningham Bell
She is human, give her a break, she us going through the same things as us.
Karla Dixon
She didn't though, she was outdoors, and at more than enough of a distance. It was a funeral, she's human. Have some respect and stop jumping on the bandwagon.

Hide AdThis story is just ridiculous. It’s not as if she was at a house party. Give the women a break, she was at a funeral. Absolutely disgusting and disrespectful to intrude on someone’s funeral.
Khadija Clow
This is ridiculous. Political opinions aside, she is at a safe distance away from these women. This has become madness.
Catherine Chapman Foggo
Imagine going to a funeral and sneakily take a picture of another mourner. How disrespectful.
Lily Mcgregor
This woman hasn’t had a break at all in this pandemic. We are all guilty and fed up of not wearing masks or forgetting. Cut her some slack.

Hide AdCan't believe someone took a photo at a funeral wake and took it to the press. She would have possibly removed her mask to drink a cup of tea/coffee and omitted to put it on when she stood up to speak to these people whom she appears to be distanced from anyway. Give her a break ..... she has been working hard, round the clock for months and months.
Tom Mathers
Not like she went on holiday or was in a crowded nightclub. I’m sure we have all taken our masks off or forgotten to put one on at sometime.
Steve Bell
Its one mistake at a difficult time. It's hardly Cummings testing his eyesight, which could have caused a super spreader event or a multi car pile up if his eyesight was bad as he claims. She has saved many lives compared to Boris and has done all she can within the powers she has.
Lynsey Smith McGill
Poor Nicola can’t do right for wrong! She was human for a second and gets humiliated for life. Cut her some slack! And please remember she didn’t want to be put in this pandemic, but has taken it on. I for one think Nicola has been amazing and am for ever thankful. #Bekind.

Hide AdWell who here can honestly say they haven’t walked into a shop and forgotten their masks... a fair few I’ll bet... she is only human.
John Paterson
I’m not a fan of SNP but she has been the only world class leader and has simply excelled - give her a break it was a simple mistake. I’d like to meet anyone who hasn’t done something technically “wrong” for a single moment during Covid.
Murray Gardiner
Even people who don't usually support our First Minister are are backing her here.
Tony Stamp
What an absolute disgrace. She tells us every day to obey her Covid advice, then gets caught in a boozer breaking the rules.Anyone else in such a position of responsibility would have been sacked. She needs to resign now.

Hide AdOne mistake, unlike Boris who has practically f***ed off for the entire year, she's there day in, day out, no holidays unlike Bojo who came to Scotland! She's a world class leader. I wish the same could be said for Boris who seems to either avoid the press or pretend he has Covid, and his father, who has been photographed without a mask on four times. Give her a break!
Emma Bryce
I think 99.9999% of us have momentarily forgotten to put our mask back on after taking it off... get a grip!
Bill Grainger-Simpson
BREAKING: BoJo started off the year with an oven ready deal for Brexit. He is now ending it with no deal, national food shortages, 20 miles of urine-soaked queues in Kent and UNICEF feeding hungry children in London. What a shambles.
