A unique scholarship from an award-winning collection of local musicians has expanded to benefit not one but four people this year.
The jury for the Pathhead Music Collective Scholarship 2013 chose Jess Lothian (9 ) and Lauren Pearson (13) for singing lessons, Alasdair Murphy (11) for piano lessons and Nicky Henderson (36 ) for fiddle, harp or piano lessons.
One of the collective - drummer Tom Bancroft - explained that the Creative Places Award of £50,000 earlier this year has allowed them to expand the scholarship.
He said:“Last year a local singer won our talent show in Pathhead and we gave her singing lessons. This year we were able to offer it to a wider range of people and ages.”
