Pay subsidy will help 100

More than 100 young people in West Lothian have been employed under a wage subsidy programme that encourages businesses to take on staff.

The council pays the costs for half of a young person’s salary for up to a year under the programme.

Organisations must have a substantial presence in West Lothian, and be able to offer a vacancy of a minimum of 26 hours a week to be eligible.

Bathgate not-for-profit group Kidzeco is among the businesses involved.
