A PENICUIK dad has paid tribute to his schoolboy son whose quick thinking saved his life.
David Masson (59) told the Advertiser this week: “I probably wouldn’t be here if it hadn’t been for my son – he is my hero. Without him I would be dead, and that is no exaggeration.”
Jonathan Masson (16) was at the family’s Windsor Road home when his father returned from a fishing trip feeling unwell.
David had set off at 8.45am on Saturday, September 10, heading for the River Esk. He returned 20 minutes later, sweating and complaining of chest pains.
Jonathan, who had just completed a Heartstart course at school, immediately recognised that his dad was suffering from a heart attack and was in grave danger.
