The Midlothian premiere of Tim Barrow’s latest film ‘The Space Between’ takes place today (Sunday).
Tim, who grew up in Roslin, will be present at the Penicuik Town Hall for a question and answer session after the Sunday evening screening.
The Space Between, which was filmed at various locations around Edinburgh, will bring the curtain down on the annual Penicuik Arts Festival.
Filmed in September 2009, the movie had its world premiere at The Filmhouse in Edinburgh in March and has been touring the country.
“It was a very short and intense shoot for 17 days,” explained Tim, a former Beeslack Community High School pupil. “And the budget was pretty small for a film, £15,000.
“Post production took a bit longer. We just wanted to get it as good as possible and we could afford to spend time on it as opposed to rushing it and doing a job that wasn’t going to do it justice.”
The reception to the film, Tim’s first as director, has been “brilliant”. “You never know how people are going to take it. Fortunately, every audience has got the film and picked out what is good about the film. This is love story with a happy ending. It is really rewarding.”
