Penicuik’s further up the junction

A COUNCILLOR has voiced concern over an extra junction on a Midlothian trunk road.

Councillor Russell Imrie (Lab) believes another light-controlled junction on the A701 in Penicuik could cause more disruption for motorists and add to congestion on the busy commuter link.

His comments came during a debate which gave the go-ahead to Taylor Wimpey’s plans to build 458 homes on land at Greenlaw Mains at a meeting of Midlothian Council’s planning committee.
