Opposition is mounting in Gorebridge to the proposed closure of community facilities there.
‘Gorebridge Cares: Save Our Services’, held its second meeting last week and its petition against the closure of the town’s library and leisure centre has more than 2,000 signatures.
Mother of four Tracy Cranston started the petition and the group.
She said: “This is the straw that has broke the camel’s back. Everybody is furious about the plans.
“I hope the decision has not already been made. You can’t ignore a whole community.
“We want both facilities kept.”
