The Lib Dems have selected AC May to fight the Midlothian South, Tweeddale & Lauderdale seat in 2021

Originally from Inverclyde, AC is a graduate of the University of St Andrews and the University of Glasgow.

Much of his career has been in Scotland’s central belt, having lived in the Lothians for the past 25 years.

Mr May said: “I wasn’t born here, but I’ve come here to do a job, and do it to the best of my ability.

“I intend to represent you the only way I know how – by working tirelessly with a keen eye on the future to ensure that there is investment and improvement in education, employment opportunities and business growth.

“I will stand up for better funded healthcare and demand that money is directed towards care homes, mental health and wellbeing to bring these up to the standards we all deserve.

“To do this will need a strong economy and the Scottish Liberal Democrats have the policies to drive the economy forward to bring this about.

“A vote for me is a vote of confidence for a more secure future for you and your families.”
