The giveaway, which is part of the company’s ‘Remember Pints’ campaign, will also see selected poems being turned into permanent installations in the craft brewer's partner pubs.

Innis & Gunn, which recently announced plans for a major new brewery at Heriot-Watt University’s Research Park to the west of Edinburgh, has also launched a free beer support campaign for pubs struggling due to lockdown closures.

Robert Shepherd, who runs Thistle Street Bar in Edinburgh, said: “We can’t wait to get back behind the bar and serving our amazing customers when it’s safe for them to return, but there are some very real business challenges we’ll need to face when that happens. Stock is one of those challenges, so this support from Innis & Gunn is very welcome indeed.

"It’s great to have a supplier showing this kind of foresight and looking out for us in this way, so massive thanks to Innis & Gunn for that.”

Commercial director at Innis & Gunn, Crawford Sinclair, said: "We think it’s safe to say a lot of us are gasping for a freshly poured pint at our favourite pub.

"We know you can’t get in to your beloved local right now, but let us know how much you love them on social media this week and we’ll get the drinks in when it is safe to do so.

"You might even be rewarded with some free ice-cold beer delivered to your door in the meantime. Our customers are hugely supportive of our brand, and when we spoke to them, one of their biggest concerns for when they reopen is ensuring they have enough stock.

"So, we’ve signed up 30 of them to our ‘Remember Pints’ campaign and now that’s one less thing for them to worry about when the time comes.”
