In our latest reporters’ recommendations feature, we take a look at our favourite hair salons and barbers in Edinburgh, with so many great places to go to get a haircut in the Capital. From a traditional barber’s shop in the Bridges to upmarket hair salons in Leith and the New Town, our reporters have recommended the best places in the city to go for a trim and maybe to be pampered too.
5. Emma Hall Hair
Deputy editor Ginny Sanderson also recommended this Leith hair salon. She said: "Emma Hall Hair in Haddington Place, Leith, has a great ethos of cruelty free, vegan and eco friendly products. The hairdressers are super friendly, my trim was lovely, and I was amazed they managed to get a curl to stay in my super-straight hair." Photo: Google
6. Short & Curlys
Evening News reporter Kevin Quinn recommended this Longstone hairdressers. He said: "As a bald man for about 20 years my hairdresser recommendation is somewhat out of date now, so I'm relying on my 11-year-old son Daniel, who tells me that Short & Curlys is the best place in Edinburgh to get a haircut as the staff are 'always very chatty and kind and they always do a great job with my hair'." 7. Cascal in Leith
Jolene's favourite is Cascal hair studio in Leith. Going here is always a great experience. The staff are attentive, skilled and have a great dynamic as a team. It's always packed, there's a lively atmosphere and decent banter. Photo: Street view
