Sir Harry Lauder Road was closed from 9am, and Traffic Scotland has reported that due to the convoy, there is congestion on the A720 between Lasswade and Sheriffhall.

The video captures the coaches driving past the Scottish Parliament.

Readers of the Edinburgh Evening News have had mixed feelings about the protest with one person saying: “I understand their frustration at job losses but many other industries are in the same situation, job losses in retail, tourism, leisure & hospitality.

“Furlough scheme should be adapted to allow businesses to get back on their feet.”

Another added: “Just had this bunch of muppets crawl past my front door.

“Diesel fumes, traffic chaos, and constant honking triggering my anxiety. Can't believe this was allowed to go ahead.”

Another person said: “Lots of NIMBYism here. Next time planes are diverted or a railway line is flooded you will be screwed if there are no coach operators in business nearby.”
