Itihaas retains its Midlothian title
Itihaas was crowned best Asian Restaurant in Midlothian for the second year in a row at the Asian Restaurant Awards Scotland last week.
The Dalkeith-based family-run restaurant specialises in Bangladeshi Indian cuisine. The awards were presented by Samantha Simmonds and broadcast live online in partnership with Just Eat.
Runners-up included Bombay Lounge in Dalkeith and Memories of India in Gorebridge.
This year, because of Covid-19 restrictions the more than 50 Asian restaurants shortlisted from all across Scotland, were nominated online by the public and then narrowed down to just 15 winners and two highly commended.
Organised by the Asian Catering Federation, the awards have become a pinnacle for recognising the best Asian, Chinese, Japanese, and Nepalese restaurants and takeaways in the country, and uniting the Asian restaurant industry in achieving recognition for innovative vision and exceptional food.
