P5 pupils from Loanhead Primary have been putting their new-found running skills to good use.
Since last August, the children have been trying to build up fitness and stamina by running one mile a day.
In the winter, activity decreased but when some boys in the class shared information about Out-Run May for Macmillan the class were keen to take part.
It was decided that a Team P5 the youngsters would run a whole marathon in May and ask for donations.
The initial amount they wanted to raise was just over £204 because they learned that this is the cost for one Macmillan nurse per day. So far the pupils have raised more than £960 - enough for four nurses.
As well as improving their fitness, the children were able to use apps to measure their distance and times. Some pupils have joined athletics groups and others are now run in the evenings with friends and family.
