The ring was lost by a man as he was putting items into a general waste skip at Stobhill Recycling Centre last week.

At the time two members of centre staff, George Kenderdine and Ryan Law helped him look for it but unfortunately it could not be found.

Luckily the ring was later found outside the skip by Ryan when it was being moved – and now his work colleagues have now nicknamed him 'Lord of the Rings'.The owner of the ring had left without leaving any contact details so a social media appeal was launched by the council to trace him. This led to Stuart Urquhart from Bonnyrigg coming forward to claim it and he was reunited with his ring on Sunday. Stuart was very grateful to get his ring back and thanked Ryan on behalf of both himself and his wife, who had feared the ring was lost forever.
