Ten of the 26 new homes at Taylor Wimpey’s Pentland Green development in Bilston have now been handed over, with the remainder expected by the summer.

Made possible thanks to Scottish Government funding of £1.9 million, this helps meet the high local demand for social housing.

“These new affordable homes are a welcome boost to the local area,” said John McMorrow, chief executive of Melville Housing.

“The pandemic has not been easy for anyone but I’m both delighted and proud that we’ve been able to meet the challenges head on.”

He added: “The huge numbers on Midlothian’s social housing waiting list demonstrate the desperate need for good quality, affordable housing such as these at Pentland Green, and we will continue to do everything we can to respond to this demand.”

This project builds on a successful partnership between Melville and Taylor Wimpey which has already delivered over 100 high quality, affordable homes across Midlothian.
