Midlothian Council stated that other branches will open as soon as it is possible to do so after this date.

A reserve and collect service will be operating initially, whereby library materials can be ordered by phone, email or online for collection at an assigned time.

Items can then be returned to Dalkeith Library and eventually other libraries as they re-open. The mobile library will be assisting this service by covering areas without an open library.

Library staff are always happy to help so if you have any queries people are encouraged to comment or message on Midlothian’s Council’s libraries social media page. You can also email [email protected]

Also, all fines from March 18 will be waived and reminder emails can be ignored.
