Beautiful pictures show parts of the Lothians that woke up to a winter wonderland this morning

Not everyone in the city was lucky enough to wake up to the glorious scene, but those who did shared these impressive pictures of the snow.

The images were posted by readers in the comments section of this morning’s weather piece on Facebook.

It looks to be that East Lothian didn’t see much snow overnight with parts of West Lothian and Midlothian enjoying several inches.

One resident in Portobello said that there wasn’t even frost on the ground this morning.

A yellow weather warning was issued on Wednesday at 3pm for snow and ice across Scotland, and will remain in place until 12pm today.
