Princess Pumpalot: The Farting Princess returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for a fourth year running with a brand new show.
“Princess Pumpalot: The Radio Show – Live on Stage!”, by Temple-based writer Robin Mitchell, will be performed at the Sweet Grassmarket (Venue 18) at the Apex Grassmarket Hotel, Edinburgh, from August 4.
This year Princess Pumpalot and her best friend Guffy will have to solve the mystery of the missing super-farting bean and save Wiffyville from the nasty Low-Flying Gnomes.
The show, directed by Liam Rudden, will be performed in the style of a radio play and based on characters from the top-selling book by Robin. It is being billed as a “fun-packed show is for all the family”.
The 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show is sponsored by Arcus Animation Studios. Arcus is a 2D animation studio that creates broadcast animation, promotional videos and video installations. They have produced work for the CBBC and E4, partnered with local and national agencies, and brought outdoor events to life with animation-based art installations.
Having secured the animation rights to Princess Pumpalot, Arcus were keen to support the 2016 show while turning Princess Pumpalot’s world of Wiffyville into an animated TV series.
Some of the newly created images will be used as projected backdrops in the actual show.
