Stereophonics forced to cancel Edinburgh Castle Concert

Stereophonics have officially cancelled their gig at Edinburgh Castle this summer due to the coronavirus crisis.

The Welsh rockers were due to perform in the Capital on on Thursday, July 23, as part of this summer's Castle Concerts series.

A statement from the band read: "In addition to the Summer festival cancellations already announced, we are sorry to also announce that the Stereophonics summer shows in Inverness (11/7), Edinburgh (23/7) and Bangor (25/7) have been cancelled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in the UK.

"Ticket refunds, will be issued from the point of purchase. Ticket holders will be contacted by their ticket agent within 14 days."

It is the second gig at the iconic venue to be cancelled after Irish trio The Script were forced to reschedule their planned Edinburgh Castle gig this summer for Friday, 16 July 2021.

It's not yet known if Stereophonics will be rescheduling for next year.
