The clanging noise, made by a piece of heavy machinery called a pile driver has been working to prepare the grounds for a new property development named The Ropeworks on Salamander Place.
The Ropeworks site has been undeveloped for about ten years and Rettie & Co has been appointed as selling agent for the site.

Hide AdCurrently in phase two of the development, the machine is preparing the ground to build terraced houses, mid-market rent homes and cycle and pedestrian access.
According to S1 Developments, the second phase of development originally had an expected completion date of early 2020.
Kat Wake who lives near the site said: "We've been hearing the thumping all week. It's not the end of the world but where we are it's pretty loud.
"You can hear it right across the Links and beyond."
