Two kayakers have been rescued by the RNLI after getting into trouble near Bass Rock off the North Berwick coast.

The Dunbar and North Berwick lifeboat volunteers teamed up in the rescue on Thursday after one of the kayakers capsized.

In a statement, the Dunbar RNLI confirmed that: “The kayakers were cold but otherwise unharmed.

“Both were wearing life jackets and had a VHF radio which proved valuable when they went into difficulty.

“As we move into phase two of restrictions in Scotland we would like to remind boat users to be prepared before returning to the water.”
