Volunteer Midlothian Awards set to return after Covid break
Volunteer Midlothian will be hosting the annual Midlothian Volunteer Awards again this year after an unplanned hiatus in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The event forms part of Volunteers’ Week (June 1-7), an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution that millions of volunteers make across the UK each year. Midlothian’s awards ceremony will take place in a digital format this year and will introduce some new elements including a special category to recognise volunteering related to the Covid-19 community response.
There are 10 award categories, all of which are independently judged, including ‘Outstanding New Volunteer’, ‘Befriender/Mentor of the Year’, ‘Dedicated Service to the Community’, and ‘Volunteer Manager of the Year’. All categories are open to nominations for both individuals and teams of volunteers.
