Rail enthusiasts stuck at home during the lockdown can now enjoy an amazing drivers-eye view of the train journey from Edinburgh Waverley to Aberdeen, thanks to a new video released by LNER.

The train company, which publishes new journey videos on its YouTube channel each week, said it wanted to offer “viewers the chance to enjoy some of the country’s stunning scenery from the comfort of their own home, as we continue to reinforce our ‘essential travel only’ message and focus on keeping those for whom travel is essential on the move.”

In the seven minute video, which shows fast-forwarded footage of the train journey, viewers can take a trip over Scotland’s world-famous Forth Bridge - as seen from the driver’s cab.

A spokesperson for LNER said: “Over the past few weeks, we have been releasing a different driver’s eye view journey each week on the LNER YouTube channel, giving our audiences the chance to enjoy a virtual in-cab ride.

“It is the first time the films have been shared in their entirety with our social media audiences and this week, our journey takes viewers from Edinburgh to Aberdeen.”
