Yusaku Maezawa: Japanese billionaire searching for a partner on moon voyage

The 44 year old secured a place on Space X’s maiden tourist voyage to the moon - the first one by any human since 1972.
Launching an online appeal to find a person to accompany him, Maezawa said he wanted to find a “life partner” for the trip. Mr Maezawa and his partner will be the first civilian passengers in history to make the lunar voyage.

Announcing a documentary “match-making event” to find his partner, Mr Maezawa wrote, “With that future partner of mine, I want to shout our love and world peace from outer space.”
According to the website, applicants must be:
Single Female Aged over 20 Bright and always positive Interested in going into space Be someone “who wishes for world peace”
Applications for the match-making documentary will end on January 17 2020 at 10am (JST), and the selection process will begin a week later.

Hide AdThe match-making will take place in February, and Mr Maezawa is expected to have chosen his partner by the end of March.
The happy couple will then be fired into space in 2023 for the six-day trip onboard Space X’s ‘Starship’ rocket.
Who is Yusaku Maezawa?
Yusaku Maezawa is a 44 year old Japanese billionaire, who made his fortune in the country’s fashion industry.
With an estimated wealth of $3bn, Maezawa began his career as a drummer in his high school band, Switch Style, which was signed with BMG Japan label in 1998.
