It’s more than 20 years since the Beeb’s Orwellian show made its debut, and since then it’s gone through assorted hosts and formats.

One celebrity guest apparently seemed limiting, so a few years ago the showrunners upped it to three.

The list of celebs, items or concepts in the contestants’ crosshairs since episode one, series one, including Jeremy Clarkson, Postman Pat, Disney and cheese, remains unexhausted.

So now it returns for a new series with actress and impressionist Ronni Ancona, Strictly Come Dancing head judge Len Goodman, and the Punslinger himself, Tim Vine, to discuss their pet peeves, in the hope of having them banished to the eponymous construct.

Benidorm (ITV, 9pm)

The award-winning comedy is back for a seventh series, and as the latest run begins we prepare to bid ‘Adios’ to the Garveys.

However, before then there’s a final holiday adventure awaiting Mick (Steve Pemberton), Janice (Siobhan Finneran), Michael (Oliver Stokes) and Madge (Sheila Reid). Joan Collins returns as Solana’s big cheese Crystal Hennessy-Vass.
