Pictures and video show scene of motorbike and police car crash on Edinburgh road

Pictures and video from the scene show the area in the aftermath of the incident.

Police Scotland have confirmed they are on the scene as a man has been taken to a nearby hospital.

The collison took place near Smokey Brae on Marionville Road, near the fire station.

The extent of the man's injuries are not known at this time.

A Police statement read: "Police and emergency services are in attendance at Marionville Road in Edinburgh following a collision between a police vehicle and a motorbike.

"A man has been taken to hospital. Officers remain at the scene."
