Parking charges could soon be introduced to four of the Pentland Hills’ busiest car parks.
The City of Edinburgh Council recently voted in favour of charges at its car parks at Threipmuir, Harlaw and Bonaly. And now Midlothian Council is expected to introduce a similar levy at Flotterstone car park.
The charges – a flat rate of £2 per visit/day or a £52 annual season ticket – could raise £29,600 in income for Pentland Hills Regional Park.
Coin-operated pay and display ticket machines will be located within each car park. Blue Badge holders as well as school and youth groups attending Pentland Hills Ranger Service educational activities would be exempt.
