Plenty life left in satirical news show

What’s on the television this weekend?

Friday, April 8

Have I Got News For You (BBC One, 9pm)

Every long-running show eventually has its day.

The plots start repeating, the jokes become stale, there’s a sense of everyone involved just going through the motions.

But despite now being 26 years old and just starting its 51st series, satirical news show Have I Got News for You has not yet reached that point.

Saturday, April 9

The Voice (BBC One, 7pm)

The contestants have made it through the blind auditions, battles and knockouts – now only four remain.

In the dramatic grand final, the acts perform solos and sing an exclusive duet with their superstar coach.

Sunday, April 10

Undercover (BBC One, 9pm)

As Maya continues her fight to “Go big”, the establishment begins to fear the rigorous light she threatens to shine on areas they would prefer remained in the shadows.

Sickened by his act of betrayal, Nick can only reflect on the actions that led him to this point. A flashback reveals Nick in 1996 as a fearless undercover officer, when his hard work is undermined by a radical young lawyer.
