Police say they have “no reason to believe” that an indecent exposure in Penicuik last week might be linked to a spate of similar incidents reported earlier in the year.
The incident, which took place at 8.05am in a wooded area opposite Glencorse Barracks, is being treated “very seriously” by detectives, who are keen for witnesses to provide information.
It is understood that a 44-year-old woman was walking her dog when a man approached and exposed himself to her.
The woman walked away and alerted an elderly man who was also walking his dog in the woods. The suspect then made off from the area. He is described as being white, around 20-years-old, 5ft 8ins tall, with a medium build and wearing a brown beanie hat, black jacket and blue jeans.
Officers want to speak to anyone who can help identify the flasher and are appealing for witnesses.
