Police are appealing for witnesses following two housebreakings, which took place on Wednesday, November 18.
Sometime between 3.30pm and 5.30pm a home in Marchburn Drive, Penicuik, was broken into.
Officers in Loanhead are also investigating a second incident that occurred between 2.20pm and 9.30pm at an address in Mayshade Road.
During both crimes various items of property were stolen.
Operation RAC teams are investigating whether both offences are linked and anyone who can assist police with their inquiries is asked to come forward.
Detective Sergeant Dave Reilly said: “We are eager to speak to anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in either Marchurn Drive or Mayshade Road during the afternoon and early evening of Wednesday, November 18.
“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to either of these incidents is also urged to contact police immediately.”
