Police are appealing for witnesses following a number of thefts and break-ins.

At around 2.50am on Tuesday, July 29, there was a report of a break-in at the Dalkeith Rugby Club.

Nothing was stolen but four windows were smashed as a result.

Between 5.30pm on Monday and 7am that same day a green Triumph motorcycle was stolen from outside an address in Polton Road, Loanhead.

Police believe that two men involved in the incidents are also behind a number of other break-ins and thefts in Edinburgh and East Lothian.

A spokesman said: “These incidents have resulted in high-value goods being taken and costly damage being sustained to a number of the properties.

“Anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around these locations is asked to contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who can help us trace the suspects, or who has information that can assist with our ongoing enquiries is also urged to come forward.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
