Police in Midlothian are appealing for witnesses following a road rage incident.

On Wednesday, May 27, 45-year-old man was driving his white Vauxhall Corsa along Easthouses Road, towards Dalkeith when a white Transit overtook in a dangerous manner.

The van driver then attempted to box the driver of the Corsa in while both vehicles stopped at the traffic lights.

At this time the victim noticed the suspect making threatening gestures through the window before the van continued on towards Dalkeith.

Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.

The suspect is described as male, white, late thirties with a slim build and a shaved head.

Detective Sergeant Ian Campbell said: “This appears to have been a random and unprovoked act of intimidation, which left the driver of the Corsa feeling shaken.

“It’s believed the van may have exited the Shell petrol station in Easthouses just prior to the incident we are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing the vehicle, or who can help us identify the driver.

“Similarly, anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation is also asked to contact police immediately.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 101.
