Police release CCTV footage of woman missing for three weeks

Police have released CCTV images of a woman who has been missing from her home in Edinburgh for almost three weeks.

The images show 30-year-old Laura Gorrie boarding a bus to Glasgow on May 22, the day she was reported missing to police.

After travelling through to Glasgow she was then seen getting on a train at Glasgow Central Station, heading for Blackpool. There have been no further reported sightings of her.

Laura is described as 5ft 8ins tall, heavy build, long brown hair, and wearing glasses.

She has learning difficulties and diabetes, and concerns are growing for her safety the longer she goes without medication, which she has to take regularly.

When last seen she was wearing blue jeans, a red jacket, black trainers with white soles, and carrying a Burberry-style bag.

A police spokesman said: “Laura hasn’t been in touch with friends or family since she was reported missing, and we are anxious for any information on her current whereabouts.

“She needs to take regular medication for her diabetes, and there are concerns over the implications for her health the longer she goes without medication.

“Laura has travelled widely throughout the UK in the past, visiting locations such as Inverness, Blackpool, and Glasgow

“She is known to frequent amusement arcades, which may explain why she travelled to Blackpool on the day she was reported missing.

“What we don’t know is whether she has returned to Scotland, and we would urge anyone who thinks they have seen her, either in Blackpool or elsewhere, to contact police immediately.
