8. The Saltire
While the Scottish Saltire is flown from government buildings in Scotland every day, on 28 April - International Workers Memorial Day - it is hoisted right up, and then lowered to half-mast for the day. The day is used to commemorate the deaths of workers around the world who were killed by their jobs. Photo: NA
